Doesn't help any that the sinusitis I developed from snarfing up too much sea water while plowing a waverunner through rough seas off the coast of Costa Maya quickly turned into an ugly case of pneumonia a coupla days ago. Luckily the ship had an impressive hospital ward, and I met a lovely Australian nurse who introduced me to the joys of percussive therapy (which basically means that she beat the dickens out of me to shake loose the nasty stuff in my lungs, or so she said) and really seemed to enjoy poking me with sharp things (something I'm beginning to think has a universal appeal to those around me). So after IV antibiotics, a z-pack and thrice-daily beatings, I was at least able to leave the ship under my own steam.
Following a very long sequence of mishaps and adventures (which I've just decided to edit out) I'm once again home.
Now on to the three weeks of work it'll take to make up for the week I took off.
I hope everyone is looking forward to at least one holiday or other, and I wish you the best.

Best wishes.
You too.
